Actress Haruko Sugimura... the first and last great actress in the history of Japanese theater. Her little-known life is being revealed for the first time. Haruko recorded an unprecedented number of performances in the history of Japanese theater, and played unique roles in works by famous directors such as Akira Kurosawa and Yasujiro Ozu.
