Plot Summary
The bells are ringing. There is a religious procession. The church is open, and the choir is singing. The fortress of Staraya Ladoga is located on the Volkhva River. This is where Russia's first access to the Baltic Sea was established. Everything created by the hands of the old craftsmen is still alive here.
