A rich man suggests that a group of people living in a pension play a game in which they fast for 6 days in order to receive a sum of money according to the following calculation: 6 days of fasting equal 10 thousand pounds, 5 days equal 6 thousand pounds, 4 days equal 4 thousand pounds, 3 days equal 2 thousand pounds, 2 days equal 1 thousand pounds, and one day equal nothing.
